Confirming receipt: two simple words at the core of how we work
Why "confirming receipt" is one of the rules AJ Keirans lives by, in day-to-day life and in business.
Confirming receipt.
Two simple words that are so core to my process. This is one of the rules I like to live by in my day-to-day and in business. Even my kids are using it when engaging with Dad, but they might be taking a jab at pop too.
Why is it so helpful for me?
I am self-aware. I know that while I am creative and adaptive, if I need to get the answer and best solution I need time to visualize, strategize, and for the ‘ize’ trifecta, organize.
It shows you that I value your time
From the feedback I received about it from Janet Baldi - she told me that it allows her to have part of her brain back and how she attacks things. If you are looking at her mind and time as a pie chart, that 10 or 20% is reserved for the task or request at hand. If a longer than expected time goes without acknowledgement or feedback that begins to increase and can have a negative effect.
I am not promising I will get back to you in an unrealistic timeframe or that I will drop everything at that moment to get back to you. I am showing you respect and letting you know it is in the works.
For me, I am trying to set up the way to best support while also being aware of my strengths and yes even weaknesses. This helps me help you better and is a work in progress. Also with that said it doesn’t apply to spam emails or automated messages and requests. Treat others like the good human you want to be treated as and you’re ahead of the game.
